It was dusk and the air was getting chilly. Unfortunately, I did not have my jacket with me. The frock of single layered cotton material decked in short sleeves was not enough to shield me from the fierce winds that was pressing on my chest. Unrelentingly, the wind laid siege on my hair so that it was flapping back and forth, slapping me on my face twice over, like it was a whip. I was vexed and anxiety soared from within me when I could not locate my parents; I was wandering aimlessly all over the hawker centre. Panic overcame me. Tears rolled down my cheeks and verged along my jawlines. I was taking a short peek at the pizza displayed in the glass shelf with an assortment of flavours and when I spun back, I found that my parents had suddenly vanished, almost into thin air.
